Located in La Coipa, San Ignacio, Cajamarca, Peru. The farm was founded in 2000, sitting on 1 hectare around 1800 MASL.

While were still waiting on processing information for this specific coffee, we know it was selectively harvested, washed, and dried in a solar drier. The coffee is then stored in grain pro. While most of the Gesha we have had on our lineup has been more floral and complex, this coffee to us reads more simply. Plenty of sweetness, but with plenty of acidity and balance. We get an interesting tropical-like acidity from this coffee, its reminding us of Golden Kiwi, and Hibiscus, fruit danish-like sweetness.

Best of Picorana is an annual auction held by Picorana Coffee Roasters in Jaen, Peru. They receive coffee submissions from dozens of local farmers, where the coffee is roasted and then blind cupped. This is the third year of this auction, and we were lucky in Australia to receive these lots. Both of the ones we chose here at Anamorphic were smaller than 2 bags for the entire harvest. Many thanks to Cafe Imports for bringing these coffees to Australia, so we can enjoy the awesome work of these small farmers, who you would likely not see on this side of the globe.

As a family, they made the decision to grow the Gesha variety with careful technical methods. To maintain the land and protect the environment, they planted trees in buffer zones on the farm. They also produce their own compost and use brush cutters for weeding to prevent soil erosion. It is important to them to care for the environment.

In the future, they hope to export their own coffee.

Harvest for Peru: May 2025 - October 2025
Arrival into Australia: April 2026
Import Partner: Cafe Imports
