Upon trying the samples, this washed lot stood out with its intensity and cleanliness. When Utopia told me this was actually 2026 season fresh-crop landed samples... I got incredibly excited to snag this one! You're getting a very rare chance in Australia to try this coffee at its floral peak, with soaring acidity and vibrancy. This is the third year of this auction, and we were lucky in Australia to receive these lots. Both of the ones we chose here at Anamorphic were smaller than 2 bags for the entire harvest. Many thanks to Cafe Imports for bringing these coffees to Australia, so we can enjoy the awesome work of these small farmers, who you would likely not see on this side of the globe.

Angel Miguel Herrera Neira and his family handle the entire coffee management and processing cycle together. Ripe cherries are harvested and measured for sugar content. Only fruit with Brix content above 20 is selected. The cherries are mechanically sorted from green and defects, before being floated in ceramic tanks to remove floating cherries. The coffee is then placed on raised beds, and dried in shade for 48 hours. While the coffee is drying, the fermenting tanks are washed and smoked with olive trunks. The whole partially-dried cherries are then placed into the tanks, and quenched with water. The cherries undergo 24 hours of anaerobic fermentation, before being opened and fermented 24 hours aerobically. The cherries are then removed, and placed inside on shaded drying beds, to dry for 25 days.

This is a big and bold high-intervention natural, with a process-driven ferment character. This was the first time a roaster could highlight the individual farmer for their Ethiopian Coffee. It was the start of an incredible project and truly began the movement for traceability in Ethiopia as we see more often today. This project also gave us some very fun stories like literally bringing a backpack full of Ethiopian Birr to Yirgacheffe with COO Noah Namowicz to pay the premiums directly to these farmers who participated.

This project is made possible in conjunction with important export partners supporting and bringing to market individual farmer lots. Samples are sent out to potential buyers, price is negotiated on the farmers' behalf, and contracts are only accepted when the producer agrees on a sales price and their name is on the contract for each coffee they sell.

“Our goals with this project would be to help garner and develop long-term relationships between the producers we are already working with and coffee roasting companies that share in the values of transparency, traceability, and relationship that this program represents," says Claudia, green-coffee buyer for Cafe Imports.”

Import Partner: Cafe Imports Australia
All our coffees are sold as whole beans.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0757/4201/9805/files/mock_light_26_3e5d1dbd-5df1-4bbf-8fac-3f4406f6824b.png?v=1788264093
single-farmer-bundle
Single Farmer Bundle

This month we have something that we feel is very special, and it’s a big move for us but one that we are SO happy that we’re able to make.

For the last 14 years, Cafe Imports has been offering Single Farm traceable lots from Ethiopia. This is something we truly appreciate with here at Anamorphic.

For these lots - Cherry is harvested from farms owned and operated by the farmer on the label. This cherry is then processed at the mentioned washing station, separately from the other communities coffees. You’ll find huge stonefruit, citrus, and floral characters that this origin is famous for, but also notice differences in each one, even if they’re from the same area.

With this box set, you’ll get 1x125g of each of these premium G1 lots.
